One of my favorite peices is called Knights in Blue. It was written the day after 911 not as a rant of what happened but as a memory of those that answered the call and gave their lives in an effort to save others. I hope you like it as much as I do.
In blood and pain are prices paid.
These people of honors call.
Each a shield for the people cry who’s safety they hold.
Men and Women of warriors spirit all.
New Spartans in a world of stained glass.
On steeds of cold steel, they ride into battle against evils massed.
Showing the world Camelot’s truest sight.
Showing a world that might is not always the right.
They place themselves in harms way.
They do so in darkest night or brightest day.
They are the peoples shield.
They are America’s light.
Freely giving their blood. And some their life.
We show them little respect.
Names and slurs are often their rewards.
And still they protect us.
These knights of armored justice.
These knights in honor blue.
I dedicate this in honor of those that serve,
protect, and face death each day for our safety.
We can never repay their sacrifice.
